Wilbur Wright was born in 1867, near Millville, Indiana. One day his father gave him and his brother (Orville Wright) a model flying toy. Little did their father know this toy combined with perseverance and determination would inspire the first powered human flight in 1903 at Kitty Hawk, North Carolina.
